EU vs US sizing:
| Item | EU rule | US/UK | |------|---------|-------| | Men's tops | EU 48 = M | M (chest ~97cm) | | Women's tops | EU 38 = S/6 | S / size 6 | | Men's jacket | EU 50 = chest ~107cm | US/UK 40 | | Collar | EU collar in cm | US/UK in inches | | Men's trousers | EU 50 = waist ~84cm | 34" waist |
Jacket and suit sizing
EU jacket sizes run 10 higher than US/UK: EU 50 = US 40 = UK 40. The number refers to chest circumference in cm for EU, or chest in inches for US/UK. A man with a 102 cm (40") chest wears EU 50.
Dress shirt collar sizing
US and UK collar sizes are identical (both in inches). EU collar is the neck circumference in centimeters. US 15.5" = EU 39/40. To convert: multiply US inches by 2.54 to get approximate EU cm.
How to measure
- Chest/bust: Arms relaxed, tape around the fullest part
- Waist: Around natural waist, not belt line
- Neck/collar: Around base of neck, just below the Adam's apple, add 0.5cm for comfort
